Diesel Electric Shuttle Car System

Phillips Machine Service successfully tests the PM15DE Diesel Electric Freedom Car

The Cummins 4.5 liter Turbo charged water cooled engine produces a nominal 150HP (110kW) which drives a 55kW induction generator (Saminco designed) outputting a constant 440VAC. This is then regulated by the Saminco Induction Generator Controller which converts the output to 650VDC. This bus voltage is used to power the Saminco standard VFD control system which is now installed in over 70 shuttle cars in daily operation.
